My Story:
After graduating, I got my first job with Mahindra’s Electronic Division posted in Calcutta
with a monthly salary of Rs.900/- plus rent free accommodation in Dover Place. After
working there for two years, I got an offer from a Bangalore based company and I moved to
Bangalore in 1983 and I have been here ever since.

In 1989, I decided to quit my job and start my own business in Hardware and Networking
services. I ran the business till 2020, sold out to a larger company just before Covid first
wave and retired.

I have been associated with TAAB – IIT Kharagpur AA Bangalore for two decades. For past
decade, I have been handling LIFE and Eshala intervention in rural government schools in
Karnataka. Our efforts resulting in impacting about 12000 school going children in the past
decade and we have set ourselves an ambitious target of impacting one lakh school children
this decade.

Under eShala CSR, rural schools are provided with 50inch TV, CPU, Solar UPS and Battery
along with course content from Next Education that provides End-to-Edn Saas based K12
education solutions. Te implementation agency is Selco founded by our alum Dr. Harish
Hande. The complete solution with five year licence fee and warranty costs about 1.5lks. We
reach out to donors for 50% amount and the balance is arranged thru matching grant donors.

In 2010, along with a bunch of IITians, I started IIT Alumni Center @ Bengaluru. The
objective of this institution is to use the power of alumni and from industry and government
generate R&D Projects, Consulting Assignments, promote Workshops shops and Certificate
Courses and help in monetizing IP available with IITs. All IITs are partners in this endeavour
and we are hoping to inaugurate our iconic building @ Bommasandra by September 2021.

Retirement makes sense only if you have a passion and my passion is music. I am a lyricist,
composer, guitarist, harmonica player and a singer. I started my own composition in 2018
and released my first album thro India’s largest digital platform for original musicians
songdew when I was about 60 years old. As of now I released 30 songs in English, Hindi,
Telugu, Telangana and Hyderabadi. My latest effort Retirement Song is a viral success and is
heading towards half a million mark
